Christmas fun

Christmas is always more fun when you can spend it with a child. Wrapping packages, putting up the tree, putting up decorations are more fun with the help of a child. We not only have the fun of seeing everything from the child's perspective, we are also awaiting the arrival of Nay. She will be here tomorrow.

She described the wonderfully snowy weather you are having in Minnesota. Some fun! Snow and ice are fun (!) but the relatively mellow 50 degrees here is also enjoyable.

We are having great food. John has turned into a chef along with his other great qualities.

I hope your trip has evened out, Karen L, and that all is going well.

Take care.

I am here in the tropical oasis of Australia....warm weather with cooling breeze, tropical flowers and so much more. I am now relaxing on the veranda with my morning tea.

Hope all is good in Virginia....enjoy the family time.

Hey! We are having Christmas around the world!! Vicki is on the east coast, Fran in the west, KL down under and me right here where I always am, in the middle!!

KL sorry to hear of your derailment. When I hear of you task oriented, motivated people it reminds me of how thankful I am to have my personality!! I am glad to arrive no matter when it is ~ just as long as I get there.

Although I can completely understand your "point of tears" comment!! Two years ago we were delayed for over 7 hours and replaned twice. When we finally got to Mexico and they opened those plane doors with that warm, humid tropical air wafting in the plane I could hardly hold back the tears!! I didn't say a word as we deplaned because if I had opened my mouth I would have definitely burst into uncontrolled, emotional, tears!!

PLEASE!! Relaxing on the veranda with a morning tea???? I am sighing at my desk with my eyes shut just imagining it!!! So far, it has just been the best part of my day!! Be sure to post what is on the agenda tomorrow!!

And, Vicki, I must confess. . . I skipped the gym today. It just isn't as motivating without you!! Sorry to disappoint you. CAn you come home now???

Merry Christmas to Karen W plus Vicki and Naomi. I just called daughter Andrea to wish her a Happy Birthday. Jeff is home for a couple weeks from China and they will have Christmas today at Arianne's and then go to Jim's sister for Christmas Day --where Jim's mother Helen now lives - in Indiana. I am invited to a very nice new friend here for Christmas. Yesterday had a party here for supper and then watching a movie." Mamma Mia".A girl's night out like we used to have with our book club in Evansville. Jeff and Janiece leave tomorrow for a couple weeks in Asheville to help with Phoebe and the new Vann. We had our Christmas on Monday.

Although it is only 12:47 am Christmas day in MN we have just finished cleaning up the dishes after our Christmas meal. It was delicious, grilled steak, potato salad, cole slaw and steamed prawns.
Dessert was trifle and apple pie. We have had quite the mix of ethnic origins here today. New Zealanders of Scottish descent, South Africans of Dutch descent and Americans of Scandinavian and German descent. It was quite warm and humid here today.
Tomorrow we set off on out 8 day journey to the north. We will end up in Caairns near the Great Barrier Reef.
We visited the Sunshine coast at Mooloolumba the other day. Some of the guests here today are from Toowoomba. You have got to love the names of towns here. One our stops tommorrow will be Yepoon.
One thing we have discovered is that no matter where you go people that are your friends make every place feel like home.

Hard to believe that we have been gone nearly a week already. I have been keeping up with my journal daily.

Everyone....Wishing you a Merry and Blessed Christmas from Down Under!
